Leticia Barajas,
President and owner of Connections
Around the World, LLC and its
marketing division, Hispanic Marketing Associates,
is a native of Nebraska and is the daughter
of Mexican parents who raised their family in
a bilingual, bicultural home. First mentored
in small business ownership by her father, a
successful Omaha entrepreneur, she has an authentic
perspective on the challenges of immigrant owned
businesses and the challenges of immigrants
adjusting to life in the United States. She
knows the Hispanic language and culture first
hand from a personal and professional perspective.
OUR VISION
Leticia established
Connections Around
the World, LLC (CAW) and its
marketing division, Hispanic Marketing Associates
(HMA) in 1994. The Vision was clear from the
beginning - to restore wholeness in a fragmented
world. Throughout the years, working with both
the established community and the immigrant
community she began to realize that what keeps
them apart is what they don't know about one
another. And for both communities, knowing where
to start to get to know about the other is a
difficult thing. CAW and HMA were developed
to teach practical steps to bring the mainstream
and Hispanic/Latino communities together
OUR MISSION
Our Mission is
- to raise cultural awareness within organizations
and channel it into developing and sustaining
emerging Hispanic/Latino and other markets.
This is done through constructive and forward
thinking action, based in sound practices in
communication, diversity and inclusion, accurate
identification of customer needs and appropriately
targeted marketing efforts. The outcomes as
a result of such action is building business
relationships that are self-sustaining and mutually
beneficial.

EXPERIENCE
In over 20 years of professional
experience, Leticia has demonstated a solid
understanding of how to develop and manage successful
businesses. With little exception, all her management
experience includes directing company resources
to profitably meet the needs of businesses or
agencies serving diverse customer/client/patient/community
groups. Leticia held management and administrative
positions in business - large national corporations
and in small business owership; local government
agencies and in community-based non-profits
organizations. Her track record demonstrates
consistent success in meeting business goals
and in developing an innovative approach to
programs and services that were designed or
mandated to serve a diverse customer base.

BUSINESS OWNERSHIP
In 1994 Leticia
started out as a sole proprietor and has guided
businesses and other organizations/agencies
in profitably meeting the needs of diverse target
customer groups. She officially formed her present
company, Connections
Around the World, L.L.C., in
1996 to provide management and marketing consulting
services to clients in Nebraska and Iowa. Her
clients include businesses, large non-profits
and local and regional government agencies.

•• Over 2,500 professionals in occupational
Spanish and culture, using the course she authored,
"Spanish for Business and Service Professionals";
•• Over 100 staff of the Federal Court District
of Nebraska in language & culture;
•• Dozens of Nebraska and Iowa real estate professionals
on how to serve the needs of Spanish-dominant
home buyers;
•• Medical staff in cross-cultural patient communication;
and
•• Over 300 bilingual staff and freelance interpreters
in medical and legal interpreting.

employee groups serving Latino and other diverse
customer groups;
